Bella’s Final Moments
In her last moments, the man, his friends, and the community she inspired surrounded her. It was a peaceful goodbye, despite the pain; somehow it was made easier knowing that Bella had lived and was surrounded with so much love and gratitude. She had traveled full circle-from being a freezing abandoned dog to being a figure who had impacted the lives of so many people.
Bella’s memory lived on in the stories people were telling, the adoptions that had begun as a result of her inspiration, and the animals she had literally rescued from death. The man who rescued her continued with work, thinking that Bella’s spirit was not gone but continued living through the animals she had touched during her lifetime. He carried her spirit as he shared her story of survival, hope, and love, reminding that such small acts of kindness lead to changes in lives.
He looked at life totally different now since the day he had found Bella. For him, it wasn’t just due to the fact that he had been rescued but due to his connection with Bella and everything that happened afterward. His whole time with Bella was like his lifetime, and so was from the day they first met in snow till the day they said goodbye.
