Rescue in the Cold: A Life-Changing Discovery
On a cold winter, one man, walking down an apparently deserted street, chanced upon a life-changing sight and that of saving a dog in need. The scene he witnessed was heart-wrenching: a small dog, barely able to move, was huddled in the snow, shivering from freezing temperatures. His body was frozen, and one could suspect that the poor creature had little time left in the harsh winter chill. Moved instinctively by the sight of the helpless animal, the man rushed to the side of the dog. Scooping up the dog into his arms quickly, he felt the bones under the thick layer of cold fur. The evident signs of trauma and exhaustion did not deter the dog from lifting its head a little just to acknowledge the presence of the stranger.
He knew he had to get the dog warmth right away. Doffing his coat, he ushered the animal to his car and covered it with his coat from the biting wind. It was too cold even to think through how the dog could have survived such an extreme condition. The man drove the dog to the nearest veterinary clinic to him in hopes that the dog would be saved. The dog was rushed to the veterinary clinic for treatment. The people in the clinic moved very fast, warming the animal and checking out its condition. While they warmed the body of the dog, the veterinarian found an unusual bulge under the belly of the dog that wasn’t seen before.
Curious and worried, the vet decided to take the matter further. Using very gentle hands, the veterinarian examined the little area around the bulge. To their surprise, though, it was not just a health or injury, but something much far more extraordinary.
