Change in Owner’s Attitude
As the owner of the monkey and puppy watched how their companionship grew, so did a change come in his thoughts about the animals and companionship. They learned that even animals have very deep emotional aspects and can create bonds that cross lines and do not form boundaries between species. Such understanding made them change perspective and allowed them to understand the compassion that animals can render.
Reflecting this incident, that owner could no longer view the monkey as an intruder but, instead, as a puppy’s friend. This initial fear and concern had evolved into admiration and respect for the instincts of the monkey in the protection of its little puppy. It is through this exploration journey that the owner’s love for animals had increased upon their realization that animals tend to be more caringly complex than minds imagined by humans.
The new view of the owner made it in itself a lesson: not to go to the unknown with preconceived ideas and to respect the secrets of nature. They would take that understanding with them and view animals not only as creatures but as beings that would eventually form meaningful connections.
