The Inciting Incident
One day, the puppy owner witnessed something unusual and utterly confusing; a monkey had captured their puppy and ran away into the horizon. Within a few seconds, the helpless puppy was gone; the owner was frantic and alarmed. Although monkeys are playful, this episode seemed unusual and thus warranted prompt concern. It was evident that it was not just a playful act – it seemed more of a full-blown kidnapping. The owner of the puppy, beating with fear, thought the worst was in store for his little puppy.
The owner started searching immediately. Driven with desperation, he wanted to find his puppy before any harm could befall the very creature under his care. With every passing minute, the imagination fueled fear by the very notion of lurking dangers in the forest. Being vulnerable near a wild animal, that puppy was very disturbing. Instinct and worry compelled the owner to mobilize neighbors and friends in search of the puppy, in the hope that before it too late, the puppy could be salvaged.
The actions of the monkey were alarming, but more so, perplexing. What could make a monkey take a puppy? Questions filled the neighborhood, and everybody asked what could push an animal to such action. Hours passed, then they realized this wasn’t one of those pranks or some mischief for a little while. They had no idea that this mystery was about to unfold in an utterly unexpected manner.
